If you spent many happy times at the beach as a kid, then you need to get back there as often as possible. Creative play is a wonderful choice for the ADHD child. If your child enjoys artwork, keep art supplies on hand. Have washable markers, construction paper, colorful stickers, art deco foam pieces, beads & string, etc. and help your child explore their imagination. All children enjoy praise from adults, so make sure that you give your child a lot of encouragement, even if the dog that they made for you looks more like a bird. If your child is old enough, have them write a story about their project. This will encourage the building of language skills and can be good practice for handwriting skills, as well.
