This Fisher/Panasonic unit from the mid 90s had a TRRS plus outer shield remote. Remote had four functions plus headphone pass through. They're almost impossible to get ahold of, so I got the schematics from the player and learned the buttons in the player are simply resistors going to a data line in a CPU; if it sees X resistance, it does Y.
